Party Chairman Dr Jim Lewthwaite gives a short statement on the disgraceful situation in the Doncaster North constituency, where our candidate Frank Calladine has been prevented from taking part in a hustings. Frank was keen to challenge former Labour Party leader Ed Milliband at this hustings, due to take place on 30th June.
The event is being held in the Parish that Frank represents his local community as a councillor. So here we have a situation where a local councillor is blocked from the General Election hustings! Why?
Surely in a healthy democracy, constituents should have the chance to listen to all candidates standing, rather than a selected few.
