With the newly elected Labour Government expected to increase the number of immigrants allowed to enter the UK, the urgency of the situation is clear. It’s unsurprising to hear that 90,000 migrants will now have the opportunity to fast-track their asylum claims in the UK.
Immigration caseworkers may soon begin processing the claims of individuals that were supposedly facing deportation to Rwanda. The UK-based charity Refugee Council estimates that approximately 60,000 of the 90,000 individuals will likely be granted asylum.
If this isn’t bad enough, government officials are expected to prioritise asylum seekers from “safe” countries such as Vietnam, Albania, Egypt, and India, which make up 30% of the overall figure. Additionally, nearly 36,000 of the migrants are currently housed in hotels, costing the taxpayer over £8 million a day, which adds insult to injury.
This situation is unacceptable, especially considering the impact on local communities. The so-called refugees will need somewhere to live, and the Government’s plan to build on the green belt and prevent objections to developments on our pleasant green land is a direct threat to our communities.
None of the three main parties seem willing to take action to stop this migrant invasion. The newest party to enter Westminster, Reform UK, are also pro-immigration, and have a flawed ‘One in One out’ immigration policy, which literally means they are prepared to replace British people with migrants on a large scale annually!
The British Democrats are the only active political party advocating to halt immigration with a commonsense ten-year moratorium and the commitment to preserve our green spaces.
