Despite not being in a government position, the Sweden Democrats hold significant sway over the Swedish government with their anti-immigration stance. Their external support is a crucial factor for the minority coalition governing Sweden, and without their backing, consensus on essential issues becomes challenging.
Thanks to the support of the Sweden Democrats, the Swedish Parliament (Sveriges Riksdag) has successfully enacted stringent laws against immigration and asylum seekers. These measures are now manifesting in Swedish society, demonstrating the party’s influence in shaping policy. Sweden Democrats have 72 seats in the Swedish Parliament, large numbers of County and Municipal Councillors, in addition to 3 seats in the European Parliament.
One of the profound effects of these stringent laws is that last August, for the very first time, the number of immigrants leaving Sweden was higher than the number of immigrants arriving. This shift in immigration statistics clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of the Sweden Democrats’ policies.
According to Statistics Sweden (the government’s official statistics agency), 5,700 more people had emigrated than immigrated from January to May 2024, and this trend is expected to continue in the coming months.
According to the Swedish government’s most recent press release, there are now more and more people who originally came from Iraq, Somalia or Syria leaving the country, and this demonstrates that those countries are not as dangerous as the pro-immigration lobby wants us to believe. The UK should take note of this.
Looking to the future, the Sweden Democrats are now proposing a new plan to increase financial incentives for immigrants to return to their country of origin. This plan, which will offer $34,000 to each immigrant, is a hopeful step towards managing immigration in a sustainable way.
Swedish Democrats aim to encourage voluntary repatriation in a way similar to the policy of the British Democrats. If Sweden can do it, the UK can also do it. What is needed is a political will that is lacking among the three main parties.
Despite a different electoral system in Sweden, than here in the UK, Swedes have supported the Sweden Democrats in large numbers. The British Democrats are aiming for the same success at all levels of government.

Its good to see that the Sweden Democrats are having an impact. Hopefully in the not too distant future they can stop immigration completely, deport illegal and criminal immigrants and be successful with their voluntary repatriation plans.
Nationalism at the moment is sweeping across Europe with the National Rally in France topping the polls in the European elections and getting more than 10 million votes in the general election, Geert Wilders PVV topping the poll and winning 37 seats in the Netherlands general election, the Vlaams Belang topping the polls in the European elections and looking set to do well in the Belgium’s local elections in October. The Swiss People’s Party being the largest party in the Swiss Parliament and the revival of the Freedom Party in Austria who won the European elections and are expected to do well at forthcoming elections.
The success of the AFD in Germany in state elections in Germany led to the government suspending its membership of the schengen agreement. With all of this happening across the channel for heavens sake Great Britain start waking up.
Alas We British naively voted for Labour and gave Sneer Starmer a undeserved majority so I don’t expect this horrendous Labour Government to put British People first and if the British Government did what Sweden has done We would have the UN ECHR Biden administration the BBC Sky and all pro immigration NGO’s screaming blue murder and jumping up and down this Country needs to grow up and demand change
