Reform Party deputy leader Richard Tice

Richard Tice, the deputy leader of Reform UK and Member of Parliament for Boston and Skegness, says he remains deeply committed to his constituency despite dividing his time between Britain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). His partner, Isabel Oakeshott, has moved to the Emirates. This situation has raised concerns about his availability as an MP. Consequently, during the winter, he could be on a cold and rainy Skegness seafront one day and, at a moment’s notice, 3,500 miles away at one of sunny Dubai’s luxurious private beach clubs.

Isabel Oakeshott is currently based in Dubai, working as an editor for Talk TV and a columnist for the Daily Telegraph. She commented that the Labour Party’s tax on private schools prompted her to seek alternative educational options for her children. How many frequent flyer miles Richard Tice and his partner have accumulated with Emirates Airlines is unknown.

Richard Tice was elected as a Member of Parliament during last year’s General Election and is one of five MPs representing the Reform Party. He emphasised his strong commitment to his constituency, stating, “We [Reform] are expanding our international presence.” Tice also mentioned, “My family built their first skyscraper in Dubai in the mid-1970s.”

From 3,500 miles away, Isabel Oakeshott says she continues to support Richard Tice “in every possible way as we pursue our shared ambition for a thriving Britain.”

Tice did not invite Reform leader Nigel Farage to Dubai because he described Farage as “busy with various international obligations,” which is a significant understatement.

Nigel Farage

Clacton residents wonder when their MP will visit again to address their concerns. This feeling resonates with many who believe their elected representative neglects them. The absence of regular visits and engagement from their MP has left many constituents feeling unheard and unrepresented, raising questions about the accountability of their political leaders.

On Monday, January 20, 2025, the U.S. Presidential Inauguration Day occurred, officially marking Donald Trump’s swearing-in for his second term. Reform leader Nigel Farage was also in attendance, returning once again to the U.S. and relishing the attention. He eagerly emphasised his ‘close relationship’ with Donald Trump to anyone who would listen, demonstrating his international focus,

Farage’s international trips, especially to the United States, have caught the attention of his constituents. Last year, he travelled to America to celebrate Trump’s election victory, during which he notably wore a bright red TRUMP baseball cap. This public display generated criticism on social media, with many questioning his focus on publicity over addressing local concerns in his Clacton constituency.

A disgruntled social media user expressed frustration by stating, “Farage seems more interested in his own publicity than serving his constituents.” Another user echoed this sentiment, suggesting, “Perhaps he could make himself useful by visiting Clacton?” These comments highlight a growing dissatisfaction with Farage’s leadership.

In addition to his numerous visits to the United States to support Trump and the Republicans, Farage has spoken at the ‘Keep Arizona Free’ summit (where he received £25,000) and at the Young Republican Club’s gala dinner in New York. He has also attended Trump rallies to support his ‘new friend’.

Nigel Farage visited America shortly after being elected as the Member of Parliament for Clacton after Donald Trump was shot in the ear at a campaign event. Farage faced ridicule for claiming the purpose of the trip was “to support a friend who was nearly killed and to represent Clacton on the world stage.” The trip, costing £32,000, covered accommodation and flights and was funded by George Cottrell, a British aristocrat and former UKIP fundraiser with a history of legal issues, including imprisonment for money laundering. Cottrell has also funded other expenses for Farage.

Residents in Farage’s constituency frequently asked when their MP would establish an office, schedule surgeries, and provide a local contact number for Clacton. Last year, Farage mentioned that he had been advised by the Speaker of the House of Commons not to hold constituency surgeries due to security concerns.

The Speaker’s Office and the parliamentary security team reported that they had no recollection of advising Farage against conducting in-person surgeries.

One resident of Clacton stated, “Farage appears to spend more time abroad than in Clacton. Does he think he is the UK Foreign Secretary?

Criticism from the constituents of Clacton has affected Farage. In response, his team attempted to manage the situation through ‘damage limitation.’ The day before he flew to America again, he was spotted in Clacton, taking photos to demonstrate that he was actively engaging with the community there.

Similarly, the day before flying to Malaysia to speak at an event, Farage shared a photo on social media, captioning it ‘Office Day in Clacton.’ In the image, he is holding up a newspaper to demonstrate that he was present there that day! His bizarre ‘newspaper photo’ was ridiculed by many of his constituents.

Before flying to Arizona to deliver his lucrative speech, he shared a photo on social media of himself beside Clacton Pier, captioned: ‘A glorious day in Clacton.’

Since then, Farage has travelled abroad numerous times, including as the keynote speaker at The Heartland Institute’s 40th Anniversary Benefit Dinner, held at The Hilton Chicago.

After attending several events in Clacton, he quickly returned to America to celebrate Trump’s election victory. He wore a bright red TRUMP baseball cap, prompting adverse reactions on social media regarding his focus on publicity over local concerns.

One discontented social media user reacted angrily and wrote: “Farage only does it for his own publicity and does nothing for his constituents.” Another commented: “Perhaps he could make himself useful by visiting Clacton?”

Nigel Farage’s strong desire for global recognition has encountered a setback as his relationship with Elon Musk has deteriorated. Elon Musk has suggested that Farage should step down as the leader of the Reform Party!

Essex Reform Party MP jailed for ‘kicking’ girlfriend

Recently released court records indicate that a Reform Party MP named James McMurdock (a Member of Parliament for South Basildon and East Thurrock) has a prior conviction for assault while drunk outside a nightclub. He was jailed for repeatedly assaulting his then-girlfriend.

It seems that voters in the 2024 General Election were unaware of his criminal conviction when they voted for him. MPs are not required to disclose previous convictions to the public when running for office. A spokesperson for the Reform Party stated that they were aware of his conviction and jail sentence. However, for some reason, the Reform Party did not share this information with voters in the South Basildon and East Thurrock constituency.

The Reform Party MP stated that the incident occurred when he was 19 and described it as a “teenage indiscretion.” However, official records indicate that he was sentenced to jail time, which was not suspended due to the serious nature of the offence.

The victim’s mother stated that James McMurdock “left marks” on her daughter’s body and “it took two security guards to pull him off her.

The Reform Party is once again attempting damage limitation. Reform stated that McMurdoch “absolutely rejects allegations that he either kicked, stamped or punched the victim, though accepts that he pushed her, she fell and was injured“.

However, after considering the evidence, the court determined that the offence required “immediate punishment.”
