The 2025 local and mayoral elections have marked another step forward for the British Democrats. Every campaign, every leaflet, and every doorstep conversation helps us build a stronger foundation for the future. We must also remind our members and supporters, the British Democrats campaign continues all year, not just at election time.
Historic First Mayoral Contest
We proudly stood in our first-ever Mayoral contest, bringing our message to over 226,000 electors through the official booklet, which featured a two-page British Democrats advertisement. This milestone gave us unprecedented exposure and helped us plant our flag in a new political arena. It is a major step toward reaching larger regional audiences.
Three Seats Gained on Parish Councils – Unopposed
We are pleased to report the unopposed election of British Democrat candidates in Cornwall and Doncaster.
- 1 seat in Cornwall
- 2 seats in Doncaster
This is a strong indicator that communities will be represented by our councillor’s and continue to hear our message, and it’s a platform we will use to prove that our party delivers sensible, community-focused nationalist politics. We also contested a ward on Doncaster City Council for the first time.
New Territory Reached: Hertfordshire
We expanded into Hertfordshire for the first time — an area previously untouched by our party — showing our growing national ambition. This pioneering effort laid the groundwork for future campaigns in the region and beyond.
Maintaining Our Presence: Maidstone, Kent
In Maidstone, we continued to build name recognition. Maintaining a visible and credible presence in key locations is vital to our long-term strategy, and Maidstone remains a key focus.
Patriotic Vote Still Fragmented – But Opportunity for the Future
We acknowledge that Reform UK absorbed the majority of the patriotic and popular vote. However, as many of you know, Reform is not an anti-immigration party — they are simply a rebranded extension of the Tory establishment, a safety valve, offering no real answers to the cultural and demographic issues facing Britain today. Their migration policy is a dreadful population replacement programme.
Although we only gained modest votes at this set of County Council elections, our activists showed how we can cover the larger electoral divisions when required.
As voters become more aware of Reform’s limited vision, we are confident they will turn towards the principled, truly patriotic alternative: the British Democrats. Just this morning, during an appearance on the BBC South East politics show, David Wimble, newly elected Reform councillor for Romney Marsh, Kent, admitted only 6 of the 56 Reform councillors elected in Kent on Thursday have any political experience. He also said many of them were paper candidates. So we predict problems for Reform UK going forward.
Surge in Social Media Following
During these campaigns, we’ve also seen a huge surge in support on our party Facebook — with growing engagement, new followers, millions of views, and a clear increase in online visibility. Alongside this, we’ve experienced a sharp rise in views to our website, gained new email subscribers, and welcomed new members. These are clear signs that our message is resonating and reaching a wider patriotic audience across the country.
We thank every member, supporter, candidate, donor, and volunteer who made this progress possible. The British Democrats are on the rise, and with your continued commitment, we will take the Patriotic Nationalist cause even further.
