It’s reasonable to expect that elected police commissioners will strenuously implement policies aimed at reducing crime; however, some may prioritise other issues.

Recently, three Labour police and crime commissioners published a pro-immigration leaflet titled ‘Migrant Myth Busters.’ This two-page document seeks to debunk nine common myths about migrants, including the assertion that they drain public resources.

The leaflet argues that, in fact, migrants contribute positively to public resources. It reads: “The Office for Budget Responsibility estimates that the average migrant, who moves to this country at the age of 25 and lives until 80, will contribute £341,000 to public finances over the course of their lives. That’s more than a British citizen contributes on average.” The document also aims to dispel ‘myths’ regarding issues such as crime, welfare benefits and social housing.

The leaflet was published by the police and crime commissioners of Durham, Northumbria, and Cleveland. It is believed that the commissioners collaborated with a pro-migrant group to produce this so-called fact sheet.

Joy Allen, Durham Police and Crime Commissioner, stated: “We know that misinformation fuels fear and can lead to hate crime. This initiative is about stopping harmful narratives in their tracks and promoting compassion and truth across our region.

The leaflet emphasises that there is no evidence to suggest that migrants contribute to crime in our streets and that “only 12% of prisoners are immigrants, which reflects the percentage of migrants in the population.”

It adds: “In fact, various studies have found that neither asylum seekers nor other types of migrants could be linked to significant changes in violent crime. One study found that there could be a link between waves of immigration and falling crime rates.” It also states that it is just not true that all migrants receive preferential access to social housing.

A language guide explaining the differences between migrants, asylum seekers and refugees is included in the leaflet. It will be distributed to community centres and libraries across Durham, Northumbria and Cleveland.

It’s unclear which world those police commissioners inhabit, considering that all of the pro-immigration propaganda is a lie. However, the real question is: why on earth did the police publish those leaflets in the first place? Maybe there is no crime in those areas, and if so, perhaps they should spend their time differently?

Unfortunately for them, their politically correct propaganda is useless in stopping nationalism. Hopefully, people will not fall for their lies.
