The British Democrats wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a joyful festive season.
The cultural and social significance of Christianity in shaping our society is profound. Our majestic cathedrals, parish churches, and rich choral traditions, alongside values of kindness and generosity, lie at the very heart of our national identity. It is our duty to protect and cherish these traditions from those who, misguidedly, seek to diminish them—whether by banning school nativity plays, renaming Christmas as a “Winter Festival,” or replacing “Merry Christmas” with “Happy Holidays.”
Many of our customs and traditions date back over a thousand years, with roots in both our Christian faith and Pagan past. The term “Yule,” the Yule log (now a festive chocolate treat), holly, mistletoe, and the beloved Christmas tree all reflect this rich heritage. These traditions symbolise the enduring spirit of Christmas, a time to bring light, warmth, and community into our homes.
Christmas is a time of goodwill, family appreciation, and joy. Decorating trees, exchanging Christmas cards and gifts, enjoying a festive meal, pulling crackers, and delighting children with presents and stories of Father Christmas are all cherished ways to celebrate this special season.
As we gather with family and friends, we hope this festive season brings you joy, love, and happiness. Take this time to relax, reflect, and recharge in the company of those you hold dear.
Best wishes for a peaceful and prosperous New Year from all of us at the British Democrats.
