The proposal to create an official definition of Islamophobia has raised concerns over potential limits on free speech, drawing comparisons to ‘Orwellian’ censorship.
Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner plans to create a 16-member Islamophobia Council. This council will develop new rules and guidelines to combat anti-Muslim discrimination.
The Government is looking for a new official definition of ‘Islamophobia’ that aligns with the Labour Party’s perspective. They define it as a form of racism that targets expressions of ‘Muslimness’ or perceived Muslim identity. However, opposition politicians have expressed concerns that adopting this definition would create a flawed understanding of Islamophobia, effectively acting as a blasphemy law that could suppress legitimate criticism of Islam as a religion.
Angela Rayner plans to have the new authority led by former Tory Attorney General Dominic Grieve due to his commitment to combating ‘anti-Muslim hate.’ Grieve co-chaired the Citizens’ UK Commission on Islam and wrote the foreword for a controversial 2018 report aimed at establishing a new definition of Islamophobia and assisting ministers in addressing the issue. This person is the same Dominic Grieve who once stated, “We’ve done something terrible to ourselves in Britain.”
Imam Qari Asim was a former Government advisor who was removed from his post by the Conservatives after advocating for a ban on a film—The Lady of Heaven—that depicted Prophet Mohammed’s daughter in a way that some Muslims found offensive. This led to protests and accusations of blasphemy, sparking a debate about the limits of free speech and the protection of religious beliefs.
The Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities called the protests against The Lady of Heaven a campaign to limit free expression and encourage communal tensions. It withdrew Imam Qari Asim’s appointment as Independent Adviser and immediately ended his Government roles.
The Labour Government is now considering Imam Qari Asim to serve on the Islamophobia council.
Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick added: “The Government should drop its plans for such a deeply flawed definition of Islamophobia. Time and again, this Labour Government displays an Orwellian disregard for freedom of speech.“
Former Prime Minister Liz Truss criticised the Government’s proposal, claiming that it suppresses free speech instead of addressing the issue of grooming gangs—a subject on which the Government decided not to conduct a national inquiry.
Before stepping down from her role as secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain last month, Zara Mohammed warned of a “deeply challenging” global climate for Muslims, pointing to “hostile and disgusting vitriol” on Elon Musk’s social media platform X.
However, I would also warn of a ‘deeply challenging‘ global climate for Nationalists, pointing to ‘hostile and disgusting vitriol‘ on the social media outlets of the three main political parties (Lib-Lab-Con) and the mainstream media. Let’s remember that they keep calling us ‘Far-Right’ when, in reality, we have been ‘Right-So-Far.’
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government stated, “This Government will not introduce blasphemy laws. We are strongly committed to addressing all forms of hatred and division, particularly the concerning rise in anti-Muslim sentiments. We will provide further updates on this matter in due course.“
The above comment is nonsensical when it says: “We are strongly committed to addressing all forms of hatred.” This Government, along with previous administrations, has responded with hatred and name-calling towards anyone who criticises immigration. Immigration has significantly decreased the percentage of ethnic British people in this country—this phenomenon is referred to as ethnic replacement, which is a euphemism for ethnic cleansing. It seems our politicians are naively unaware that ethnic cleansing is classified as a crime against humanity, as defined by the United Nations.

The term Islamophobia was coined by the anti-British Runnymede Trust organisation , and like all other ‘equality think tanks’ or ‘anti-racists’ these groups have a monopoly on what the public are to be told constitutes ‘hate’ …to these swindlers, ‘hate’ is anything that has the capacity to instil a sense of guilt or shame in whites in order to make them malleable to the mass immigration agenda. Anything that contradicts that agenda, regardless of the levels of evidence to back it up, will not be categorised as hate. Islamophobia and racism are ideologically motivated attacks on Europeans, disguised in the language of ‘tolerance’ and philanthropy.
