Building on our recent success in Cornwall, we are pleased to share that we have secured two council seats in Doncaster, Yorkshire. This achievement shows the growing influence of the British Democrats.
In an unusual development, Frank Calladine submitted nominations for different wards on two separate Parish Councils as a British Democrat candidate. Electoral law permits any registered voter to hold seats in two different parishes, provided the candidate either resides in the parish or lives within three miles of its boundary.
Both wards, known for their competitive nature with Labour and the Greens as consistent contenders, had more seats available than candidates this year. This unexpected twist led to Frank’s unopposed victory in two wards—a likely first for any British Nationalist candidate!
So, Frank will hold seats for the voluntary positions in East Ward on Sprotbrough & Cusworth Council and Scawsby Ward on Brodsworth Council. (The picture above is of Frank outside the Goldsmith Centre in his parish of Sprotbrough and Cusworth).
Frank told our website team, “It will be an honour to represent the good people of Sprotborough & Cusworth Parish and Brodsworth Parish. Politics is my passion, and I look forward to helping individuals in both communities.”
Congratulations to Frank for his commitment. He will undoubtedly be busy for the next four years!
