The mainstream media’s habit of using ‘woke’ words and phrases aims to influence how people think. Controlling language is a key tactic in establishing a totalitarian society. The media affects readers by choosing specific adjectives and employing various literary techniques.
Consider these phrases, which the left-wing MSM uses all the time:
- ‘Regime’ to describe a government the MSM does not like.
- ‘Riot’ to describe a far-right protest.
- ‘Protest’ to describe a far-left Riot.
- ‘Positive Action’ to describe Preferential Treatment.
Left-wingers use certain words and phrases because they believe that terms like ‘Christmas’ and ‘Manpower’ might offend some people. However, it goes beyond that—wokeness is often seen as a form of mind control.
Some words have been redefined with new meanings. For example, the term ‘fascist’ now refers to anyone who disagrees with the Far Left, while ‘dictator’ describes any leader who opposes the UK government.

This is so true and it works as even free-thinkers like us will find ourselves getting used to ‘policing’ our own language, even though I would never knowingly say anything to give offence. As we are all aware, supposed ‘hurty’ words, unwittingly used online, could result in a ‘Non-Crime Hate Incident’ being reported as ‘words’ are now deemed more dangerous than ‘actions’.
