The pro-immigration lobby keeps repeating the lie that Britain needs more immigrants because the native population is declining.
Of course, a growing number of people now understand that this claim is bonkers because more immigrants mean more money will need to be spent on housing, infrastructure and other services. More people will add to a rising demand for scarce resources and this is without taking into account the fact that the higher the population, the higher the poverty rate will be, and income per capita will collapse.
Experienced members of the British Democrats have been saying this for years, and now they have been vindicated by research carried out by the Office of Budget Responsibility (OBR).
Contrary to popular belief, the UK’s declining birth rate and greater life expectancy could lead to a higher quality of life.
The research made by Professor David Miles claims that while many ‘experts’ believe immigration of working people is needed to counterbalance rising numbers of pensioners, that belief does not take into account the cost of maintaining infrastructure and services. He concluded that if the population of the UK and other developed countries do reduce then ‘the economic impacts are likely, on balance, to be positive’, with a higher quality of life.
The reason behind the Professor’s research is that more immigration means more money will be needed to build and maintain infrastructure which means more taxes and fewer resources for people.
This research concludes that a lower population caused by a lack of immigration will be good for the UK as native Britons would be richer and enjoy a better quality of life.
Of course, the OBR and David Miles’s findings give more credibility to the British Democrats’ stance of opposing the permanent settlement of migrants into the UK.
