In Bradford, our party chairman Dr James Lewthwaite has been pushing for an independent public enquiry into the horrific grooming gang scandal that has ruined so many young girls lives. In 2005, when James was a councillor on Bradford council, he put forward a motion on this issue that was rejected by all other parties without any debate.
Meanwhile, an investigation into the police handling of the Rotherham grooming gang scandal, in which approximately 1,400 girls (mainly white) were sexually abused by predominantly Pakistani men, failed to impose any criminal penalties or see any officers dismissed on the grounds of misconduct.
The IOPC (Independent Office of Police Conduct) cleared former detective David Walker of any charges.
The decision not to prosecute Walker means the 47 officers who were under investigation have also not been prosecuted. This ruling has been strongly condemned by victim rights activists, lawyers and some politicians.
Walker was accused of ignoring suggestions about child grooming, but the IOPC says he “acted appropriately with any information” that he was provided.
Jayne Senior MBE, a key witness in the investigation, said the former detective did not investigate information about two young white girls that had been sexually abused by a mini cab driver. Jayne Senior MBE claimed Walker said: “This appears to be a matter for social services”.
A former police detective turned rape gang whistle-blower, Maggie Oliver said the decision to clear all officers involved in the Rotherham scandal demonstrated the “corrupt” nature of the police investigation.
Political opportunist, Sarah Champion, the Labour MP for Rotherham, said that the decision not to prosecute any police officers will be a “bitter disappointment” for victims of the grooming gangs.
Let’s not forget, it was Sarah Champion’s Labour party that totally ignored the grooming and rape of vulnerable young girls all over the country.
Priti Patel and other politicians make regular announcements and sound bites on this issue but still stand back and do virtually nothing as children are exploited.
The British Democrats demand justice for grooming victims, not just in Bradford and Rotherham, but the entire United Kingdom. Protect our children!
