British Democrats candidate Christopher Bateman has won a remarkable by-election victory in Noak Bridge, Basildon, Essex.
Result:
Christopher Bateman
British Democrats – 248 = 74%
Charlie Sansom
Independent – 80 = 24%
Turnout = 15%
Spoilt ballots = 5
This was the first time the British Democrats had stood a candidate in this area of Basildon. Noak Bridge residents had never even received a leaflet from us before this by-election was triggered. So achieving 74% is a fantastic result.

In recent months, the British Democrats have had an influx of serious and experienced political activists who are working hard on behalf of residents in local communities, and this by-election result shows the progress we are making at the local grassroots level.
Polling 74% in an election is a good result by anyone’s standards, but this particular result is even more impressive as Christopher was up against an Independent candidate who was formerly Chairman of South Basildon Conservatives and also a candidate for Wickford Independents at a previous Basildon borough council election. Independent candidates standing at local elections have been very successful in recent years. However, on this occasion the British Democrats electioneering techniques were superb to say the least.
Noak bridge is a very nice part of Essex with a real community feel to it. It’s an example of how British villages used to be, where people actually know their neighbours, unlike many towns and cities across the country these days. Christopher fought a clean and positive campaign that was based on local issues and improving Noak Bridge for all of the residents. There was a flurry of smears against the British Democrats posted onto social media in an attempt to disrupt our slick and professional campaign. This obviously backfired in spectacular style!

Councillor Bateman told our website team,
“I would like to thank the tireless activists who helped me achieve this stunning result. Your efforts made this by-election win possible. I will now endeavour to represent the residents of Noak Bridge to the best of my ability”

[…] British Democrats Candidate Wins Essex By-Election! […]
I have relations in the ward and they were canvassed BDP activist the feed back I received was very positive.”They were very well mannered” having manners on the doorstep is very important as everyone is aware that the Weasels in charge have flooded our country will ill mannered economic migrants & left wing voters masquerading as refugees/asylum seekers.
Well done to Chris and the team another great result for the party.
More members need to come forward to stand as candidates for election. Parish, Borough and District elections are coming up all the time, keep an eye on elections arising in your Borough through the Council and Democracy section on your Council’s website. With increased success comes increased publicity which means increased interested members of the public, which means increased membership, therefore, it’s an upward spiral.
So glad that Labour didn’t win this Government is bad but Starmer’s crew would be godawful if they were to ever win a general election again, congratulations by the way I live in Havering not too far
A superb result , our people are desperate for change let’s hope this is the first of many.
Great result, well done to all the activists that made it happen.
This is such a momentous result thanks to a tireless campaign by Mike Jones and the others and even more notable as the last minute smear attempt seems to have had ZERO effect on the voters of Noak Bridge. Thanks to all who worked towards this result and congratulations to Chris Bateman who is sure to be a selfless champion for his fellow residents of Noak Bridge
